I used TMPGEnc to convert the avi to a mpeg2 and tried to burn it to dvd using RecordNow but that didnt work but read somewhere it has to be converted into a .vob file. How do i do that?

you will need an authoring software which will probably cost you i.e. mysonic dvd, ulead movie factory, you can also try ifoedit which is freeware but you might have to convert the mpeg2 file back into audio and a video file or if not bothered about making it a dvd you can burn it as an svcd file onto your dvd using nero with the svcd plugin. aslong as your dvd can play svcds that is. Have look on this forum for some guides of dvdrhelp.com they have some good guides and links to tools that you will need.
