I want to edit an mpg file I have (delete some parts of it). What is a good program to use for this?

I've tried Video Edit Magic, but the audio is always out of sync with the video in the avi file. I've tried almost every compression I could get my hands on and uncompressed as well. MS ADPCM was the closest, but once you get about 45 min into the movie, it begins getting out of sync, and by the of the movie it's out of sync even more.

Any suggestions? Or is there a way to directly edit mpg files without first converting to avi?

    Many thanks.

I use Video Edit Magic too, but haven't experienced any problem. Anyway, you may try e.g. Power Video Converter or Advanced X Video Converter. If you know what you're doing, you may also try Nero Vision Express too.

    Good luck!

No, haven't found anything yet that will work. I need to convert mpg to avi, that program converts avi to other formats.

Thanks for the tip though, sounds like a decent program when needing to reverse it.
