I currently use dvd flick to convert my avi videos to dvd. Right now, I am trying to burn multiple avi files at once to save discs. The series consists of 21 files, all of which were converted fine. The problem was when converted, it was just a wee bit too large to fit on one disc. I solved the problem by removing the last (21st) file and its audio files. Problem was after burnt, the sound is off by a fraction of a second. I have had this problem before, but what causes it? Basically, is there a certain number of files I should aim for on one dvd disc, and what is it? Each file is about 22 mins long. Also, if anyone can help diagnose why the audio sometimes is off please do so. The video is fine before converting, the conversion process completes with no errors as well as the burn log. Thank You!
Instead of doing all those conversions get a player with Divx Ultra support. They're only @$50 now. Most .avi can be cleaned up for play on one of these stand-alones just by opening in AviDemux then saving. When you install AviDemux launch it and open the Edit menu, then Preferences and click the Automation tab. Check all the boxes. Now when you open an .avi file it will automatically create variable bitrate maps, unpack the bitstream etc... just save the files to the same folder and burn with Imgburn using build mode. I know since I got Philips dvp5990 I hardly do any processing other than what I mentioned above. 'cept maybe in special cases where I want to crop something to get it to 16x9 or whatever. You'll find you do a lot more watching and a lot less video converting.
