Well, I guess its my turn to throw my hands up in the air and admit that I found a problem that confuses the hell out of me. I downloaded these 2 DivX flix that are 15 fps. I can't seem to get them to encode correctly. With TMPGenc, the screen has horizontal lines that are about 1/2 inch thick each, and with CCE using DVD2SVCD, the video comes out looking fine, but playing at about twice the speed of sound.

Anyhow, I think that this is because the FPS is 15, so if anybody knows any way to convert this non-standard DivX to standard VCD mpg file, please shed some light on this for me.

Did you try editing the video and audio in virtualdub before you used TMPGEnc to convert it to vcd?????

yes.. virtual dub crashes when I try to save avi, or just previewing.

BTW, I was able to open the avi in TMPGenc after downloading the latest version, which shows it as being 15fps, 30fps internally.. but since the resolution is 318x238, TMPGenc crashes too when trying to convert. This behavior is slightly different than with the older version of TMPGenc, which had horizontal lines running through.

I tried changing the resolution inside the settings, and the best I was able to come up with was 304x192, PAL. This caused the screen to split itself down the center, and the left and right sides of the screen switched places.

Very strange indeed. I think I found 2 movies that are just impossible to convert. If interested, just go on Kazaa and download one of these 2 movies:

    yugioh_episode_36_-_yugi_vs_pegasus_(part_4).avi

    yugioh_episode_37_-_yugi_vs_pegasus_(part_5).avi

Let me know if you have any other ideas.. couldn't hurt to try.. Thanks!
