Hi, every one I am interested in buying a very rare DVD the only problem is that it is in PAL. Is there any way by using Nero Recode, DVD Decrypter or any other program to rip the program (possible with the DVD Decrypter) but then recoding it into NTSC. Are there any guides here that could help me.
Hi Payne318 Check and see if your player accepts the pal format - some do. Even if it does you'll probably still need to remove the region code. DVD Decrypter will do that. So rip to your hard drive. If you then need to convert it to PAL the fastest way is Vobblanker(free) w. those ripped files. Just make sure you do all the vts files. Then you can burn those processed files w/ Nero. This 'masking' method will usually be playable on most dvd players. Here's a link: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/302954#1788923 Or you can use Nero Vision to convert them (Recode won't do it). Add the video files - you'll receive a pop up saying something like 'most files are in PAL format do you to keep this format' click no. Depending on the size & your pc's spec - it can ake a few hours - 4 gigs takes me about 2½ - 3 hours.
No problem on on the help hmmm if you're playing on xbox you may want to use Nero Vision - not sure if Xbox will like the vobblanker method. Can always try though. Here's a guide for Nero Vision (nero 6 & 7 are very similar) - though not PAL to NTSC specific. http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/125/59/
Yes but by using Nero vison I cant get the full DVD (menus and all), how would I go about doing that.
The menu conversion I haven't done - I usually for PAL ones do movie only or if using Nero add my own menus. Reason is the menus 'roll' or at least that was my experience. In the link above there is another link that somewhere in the thread has a discussion/tools on converting menus. Seemed a bit more than I was willing to do.
