converting regular video to high definition video

    Is there a way to convert regular video to high definition video?

    Sure. Resize it and make it larger.

    if you have any prosumer video editing system, like premiere, just change the composition settings to HD then stretch the corners of the video to the edges of the HD video space

    yea, hd is about 4-6 times as many pixels, so one 640x480 pixel will be 4 pixels on a hd screen

    also, i dont think you can do this unless you have prosumer software, but im not sure

    a comparison would be Hi8 tapes to mini DV in quality

    research no further.
    upscaling anything would won't make it more higher fidelity.
    what you need is a HD source.

    if resize, you might as well resize it on playback.

    get a dvd player that upscales itself, they work great!

    (until blu ray arrives anyway)
