Hi Please help if you can

I have spent the past 3 months ripping all my DVD collection to a single .vob file using DVDfab & DVDshrink. 2 Great programs that I can highly recommend.

The problem is I now have 100+ movies in single .vob format, each about 4.3gb in size. The problem is when I need these files to be less than 4gb to use on FAT32 (slingcatcher only recognises FAT32 on external harddrives). How do I convert a single.vob file to less than 4gb - DVD shrink will only compress usign the .ifo files which I no longer have.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

You can try a couple of things. Get IfoEdit and use the Create Ifo
function. Or get DVDAuthorGUI and see if it will load the single
vob to author a VIDEO_TS folder. Or you can try SVCD2DVD and load the
.vob file as an "asset" and see if it will author a VIDEO_TS folder.

Another alternative is to get VCDGear
(get v.355 then unpack the v.356 update onto it)
and rename the .vob to .mpg then select mpeg->mpeg conversion
with "fix errors" checked. You should end up with an .mpg file
with navpacks that you can use in authoring programs like DVDAuthorGui.
In fact SVCD2DVD uses a command line version of VCDGear.

The only one of the above that isn't freeware is SVCD2DVD and
that has a trial period so you can see if it will work. I have
it and it's a pretty good tool to have around esp. if you have
any VCD movies you want to put on DVD.
