    Hi goman007,
    I'm not getting your question...?
We convert VOBs (DVDs) into DivX/XviD AVIs here.
VirtualDubMod is used to do this; NeroVision is not.
I have never used xilisoft video con. Does it make AVIs?
    Regards

thankyou, that is what i want to convert, what is the best program to do it with. so that when i download 2 seperate parts of a movie and can combine them as 1 again. that way when i make a dvd in nero vision express, it will only show one block for the movie instead of 2.
    thanks again

    Hi,
I use NanDub to append 1 movie fragment onto the end of another.
Setting both A and V to 'direct stream copy', NanDub will then write them both to 1 new file.
Sometimes there are synch issues with the second (appended) segment once they are joined...
I would just point my Nero at AVI 1 and AVI 2, and instruct it to author a DVD from them.
Joining them into 1 AVI file is not a specific requirement...?
Dunno; more info is in 'AVI To DVD' forum,

is this a certain setting in the program?

what program are you using to author your dvd?, when i do it in Nero Vision Exp. it wants to make a window for both segments; that is why i wanted to combine them.
thanks for the help and replying.

I guess i'm asking the wrong ? all together; how do i download a movie and turn it into a single file movie as if i were going to download it off the internet. they are not in segments, that what i want to do.
    thanks

    Hi All,

The_OGS, yes xilisoft converts to avi and a whole lot more.

I have been using the free trial and am thinking about getting it.

If you have a chance check it out and tell us what you think.

    Here's the link: http://www.xilisoft.com/

When you get to the site, scroll down a bit to find the Xilisoft Video Converter 2.1, as they make other programs too.

Yes, I see you have Xilisoft.

The thread was for The_OGS to answer his question he asked earlier.

Guys, c'mon! That Xilisoft costs money.
They want $45 bucks for that...
I backup DVDs using DVDDecrypter, GordianKnot and XviD - all open-source, all free :^)
Anyway, goman007 has AVIs already and he wants to convert them to DVD - for that we have a different forum (AVI to DVD).
All answers to his questions await him there...
