Converting Video to iPod

    I was wondering if anyone knows of a free program that will convert DVD to iPod but also MPG, MPEG, and so on to iPod format as well.

    Free software does bad work? Looks like they created a dshow encoder based on x264 which is free and GPL. Couldn't see any source or info on getting source anywhere which would make the app illegal. They can't just relicense x264 like that.
