Converting videos from .avi

    Can I convert .avi movies that I have downloaded from utorrent into the format used by itunes using Nero 8 Ultra Edition? This would allow me to put some movies onto my Ipod. Is this possible?

    Yes - Recode will convert the avi to a format that the iPod will accept.
    Use the 'Recode DVD's and Videos to Nero Digital' to add, convert and transfer them to the iPod.

    Load Nero Vission, say your creating a DVD. Load an AVI into the window, as you would if you were going to burn it to a DVD, but choose "EXPORT" at the bottom.

    Format:
    Nero Digital

    Profile:
    iPod Video

    Now click configure.
    Framerate:
    Choose the same rate as your AVI.(AVICodec will tell you the frame rate if needed)

    Target Size:
    DVD-1 is the highest I would go.

    Encoding Method:
    High Quality 2 Pass will offer better quality but will take longer.
