I have downloaded some music videos. They differ from different formats like (avi, mpeg, wmv and so on). I used nero to copy this videos onto a dvd disk and it said there was an error transcoding. I was wondering if I had to convert the videos to one format. I really don't know. I was starting to buy AVS Video Converter but I want to hold off first and see and if anyone can help me.
well for you to view your files as dvd you need to convert them to an mpeg2 format. For the avi/mpeg ones try usinfg the free program below : http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm
To copy your video files to dvd disc, you'd better directly convert them to dvd format, so that you can burn them without re-authoring after the conversion. Btw, you may try winavi video converter which can perfectly do this job for you. http://www.winavi.com/en/video-converter/video-converter.htm
If u have the lastest version of your NERO (6 or 7) and Nero Vision 2 - you can use the option burn DVD-Video Files. Thats what i do when i download short videos. There all different types: wmv, mpeg and i use that option. It takes about 2 hours for a full disk to burn but it works
