Converting With AutoGk

i capture alot of tv shows, they are mpeg2, then i convert with autogk
i like to make the xvid 29 frames, i bring up the hidden menu with ctrl f9 and click 29 frames, but it doesnt do it for the most part it does it 24 frames when i watch the show later it stutters some is there a fix for this. or a better program to convert? i need one with options like cropping and others. thanx for the help guys.
