I just bought a Toshiba DVD burner, and I have Nero 6.6. I have a lot of *.wmv files that I made using Windows Moviemaker. But I find that Nero won't accept *.wmv files for burning to DVD. Does anyone know of good (and cheap) conversion software for doing this?
The fastest program that I know of is AVS Converter 3.1. its very easy to use just go to http://www.avsmedia.com
ConvertMovie from http://movavi.com/convertmovie/ works pretty good. Once you download and install it, configure Output Format to MPEG and DVD NTSC Compatible. You can try it free for a while. Video in WMV may not result in the best DVD quality after conversion, but should be okay.
I should also add that I never had much luck with Nero Vision Express for creating DVD's. I have been using Pinnacle Studio Plus v.9 with great results. Hollywood FX comes with Studio and I never could find a use for it so I uninstalled that part.
You may also try VSO DivxToDVD (freeware version). It's a very nice program: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_encoders/vso_divxtodvd_free.cfm
