I'd like to save files with extensions .MOV & .WMV onto a cd in such a way that they play on a DVD player. Thanks for any help you can offer.
Hi there, you need to recode the files, It's been a long time since i have done anything like that but i think nero recode will do that part for you. After that you can make a DVD with your files using nero vision. some of the others might know a better way but i hope this helps get you started.
Thanks Tony. My comp came preloaded with Nero startsmart. I'll check into Nero recode. BTW are there any freeware utilities that might do the trick, since I'm not completely clear on how a Nero licence works, that is, is this a seperate program that needs to be bought? Sorry if it seems I'm cross-examining your advice, truth is this isn't really me field of expertise. Now if you need a room painted... EDIT: Just checked Nero recode. It seems only to burn to DVD. I'm looking to burn onto CD (but otherwise that's the one). Lost a lotta data burning to DVD (all my family pics. They weren't backed up) so I'm not too sure about the UDF format. Thanks.
Your welcome, as i said it has been a long time since i have done anything like what you want to do. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_divxtodvd_guide.cfm above is a guide that will help you to convert your .MOV and .WMV files to DVD I haven't used this program yet but many here recomend it. there is a link in the guide for the software. Sorry i just caught your edit. if all you want to do is burn the movies to a cd and play them in a stand alone DVD player you can use nero to make a VCD or an SVCD that should work if your DVD player will support it.
