Ran 17 GB AVI thru it and everything comes out great except for a skip in the audio every few seconds. Ran same video thru Nero Express and also FAVC and came out ok.. I want to fix the audio problem with the Divx converter as it has a little better video quality.. Where do I start troubleshooting?
Are you saying that the files ConvertX outputs to the hard drive are skipping or that the disk burned by ConvertX skips.
The latest ConvertXtoDVD version was released today, The changelog claims to have fixed the audio problem. Read and update here: http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/history.php
I saved it to my hard drive as always to check output..Used version 3.3.0.96 Just downloaded new version 3.3.1.99 and will give that a try thanks..It's the new HD Indiana Jones movie I captured from my cable box and need it to complete my collection of all his adventures!!
New version gave me worst conversion I've ever had!! Audio out of synch 3-4 seconds!! I kinda messed up and installed it over the old version so that may be the problem..Will uninstall and try it fresh..
After you reinstall go to settings tab and reset all to default settings. VSO forums claim sometimes this clears up sync problems.
I found a guide for the program and it showed me how to adjust the sync..Going up or down in 100ms increments..Since the mouths moved and the sound came later my 1st try is to set it at -2000. It may be the right or wrong direction but at least it will give me a starting point..Only problem is you have to wait the hour or so for the conversion to finish to test it. Video ReDo has an adjustment you can do in real time and see results immediatly.. http://download.vso-software.fr/manual/ConvertXtoDVD3_manual.pdf
I must admit that in the hundreds of times that I used this program before I changed to a better one, I don't remember having an audio sync problem. But I'm curious to see how you make out with fixing it. Good luck.
Sync problem ok now but still has the audio pause/start problem..Not gonna beat a dead horse into the ground so I'll just use the other converters that work..Maybe a far future upgrade will solve the problem..
Try this one. Expensive but worth every penny to me: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/taw4.html I'm talking night and day compared to the rest and I've used them all, free and commercial.
I also use Cucusoft pro AVItoDVD..It does a good job, not excellent but good..FAVC Real nice finished DVD with it and Nero Vision Express gives me a great copy..WinAVI is pretty good but it's output is unreliable sometimes..Going to give Film Machine a test run today as I've read good and bad reviews about it and the only way to tell is try it my own darn self!!
