For the last month or so my homepage and searchpage have been switched to this useless search menu. I've tried spybot, i've tried ad aware, but that only worked until i went on the internet again. I checked out other forums, and they told me to get cwshredder, which is even less effective than ad aware. It did however tell me that it was searchx cws that was infecting my computer. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I think you might have been infected with a spyware(bordering on virus) called optimizer.exe I had to reformat once I had that spyware, as it was simply impossible to get rid of with adaware or spy bot. One more thing, did you get it from trinsync.org? Now onto the real post:- 1. What do you mean by it only worked until I went on the internet again. Spybot and Adaware are offline unless you update. 2. My advice would be to reformat, but generally you need to give out more information.
HijackThis is a pain in the buttocks for me. I only use it when my computer is actually in serious trouble.
