what kind and where could i get one i have extra slots like were hard drives go but it would be enclosed
Hey guys, Yeah those fans are okay, they fit in an empty PCI slot and exhaust out the back of your PC, which it what you require. They won't move 50cfm like a 120mm casefan though, LoL, and if they do move any air at all I bet they're hellishly loud... but better than nothing. It doesn't take much to keep harddisks from roasting - just a little steady movement, every degree is important. But they quickly get way too hot in a hot dead-air case. Do you not have any exhaust fan at the rear of your case, typically below the power supply? They are much better at what you need than a fan blowing in at the front of a case... L8R

here on i think >>>> is ther any wires ???? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1020238&CatId=0
there are wires to supplu power to it, 3 pin like ur cpu fan or 4 wires like in your DVD/CD drive, i have one of those things u put in ur first post and it is very quite and very good i would recommend it, mine is just behind my graphics card and keeps it nice and cool.
Could be what you need :^) But you need to put a fan there, blowing out. The fan goes on the inside, and screws go in from the backside of the case. 80mm is the most common size; you can also find 92mm and 120mm on newer cases. A slow quiet fan like a Vantec Stealth can hookup to mobo via 3-pin, whereas a more powerful faster fan will require 4-pin molex (like a harddisk or CDRom) if it draws much more than ~1/2 amp (6watts @ 12v). Here is a photo of a case - you can clearly see the fan hole (120mm)below the powersupply hole: http://www.chenbro.com.tw/workspace/pdimage/PC611_rearview.jpg Regards
so you guys say i could hook it up to hard drive if it is a bigger one??? do i need special plug wire please post some links with the fan i need and wire thank you
No the fan will use a power cable like the one used for ur hard drive these are suppiled attched to the fan, so u dont need any additional cables i beleive most fans come with a spliter 1 female the power goes into and still leaves 1 connection free to use.
thank you one ???? the vent in the back of the pc has four holes but they dont have any threads.so i guess i need bolts and nuts?could i size this vent up so iwill get the right mm any ideas
Its either going to be 80, 90, or 120 mm. Go to best buy and buy one of each. Whichever dont work return it. Oh and you dont need nuts and bolts. The fan will come with self tapping screws that will go through the case and bite into the fan. Mind yeah the fan goes inside.:>
quote>>>>no the screws go thru the case and thread into the plastic of the fan.:> what about the 4 holes that are there already
Huh? Ozzmary??? They go through the holes in the case that are there and thread into the plastic of the fan. How hard is that?:>
ok i know now they screw in from the back and into the fan on inside you didnt have to get crazy on me ozzy123
