just copied a music video with dvd decrypter. the only problem is there is no surround sound. tried it on the computer with power dvd but the sound fades in and out and no sub woofer. I have meters on my sound card so can see what is coming through. Everything works on my dvd player (not computer) but no surround sound. I have the menu or screen to choose the dts but when i select it there is still no 5.1. I just used what ever the defalts are in the software. is there something i need to change (some setting) to get the 5.1?
How did you copy a music video - did you rip and then directly burn to another DVD or did you make some changes in the DVD structure - i.e., remove menu's, remove audio's, remove extras? If not, how old is your DVD player (does it have the functionality to play DTS or even 5.1 as some very old ones do not) - and does the original DVD work fine on the computer and the DVD Player?
I did not remove any files that i am aware of. this is (was) the first time i used this program so dont really know what i am doing. i put the original dvd in and then clicked on the > button to record when that was done i put in a blank dvd-r and hit > button again i think. i dont remenber what i did. but got no 5.1 sound. and yes computer and dvd player can and do play the original correctly. last night i was trying again and somehow did a succesful burn. this is a small dvd so all will fit on 1 dvd. it works just like the original with the dts if i select it on the main menu. wish i knew what i did. i have tried so many times. one in file mode one in iso. i am just using dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. seems like i used shrink to down load the burned with decrypter. arent thes 2 programs the same except u can edit (delete) files in shrink.
In DVD Shrink you must choose 5.1 sound, go to shrink, to edit, to preferences, to preview, select audio preview, drop down to 5.1 channel surrond sound
thanks. like i said i finually did it right, just have tried so many times can't remember what the heck i did. something strange, I bought a dvd that is the same as the bad one i burned. the 5.1 will not work. it is wynonna. no 5.1 on dvd player but in computer 4 channels of fading in and out sound. thought maybe i could burn it and somehow make the 5.1 work. Is there a way to fix it. was looking at the 5.1 it says ac3 5.1 unspecified. checked others the say the same but they work. things are kinda making sense. Just basic? do i start copy to hard drive with shrink and then use decrypter to burn to dvd or will they both do the same. thanks
If it was made without 5.1 you can't make it 5.1 if its on the disc you can. Try a disc that has 5.1 on it and see what happens
brought it up in dvd shrink and it says the 5.1 is there. the problem i am having is geting it to play in 5.1 on anything dvd or computer. to wierd.
Try a different Disc not the one you are burning now play it on a stand alone dvd player with 5.1 and surround sound amp if it works there then it's the disc or your sound card or your plugs in the back of your pc
