Hello all......I have a problem and havent found it talked about in any other forums. BUt I have been copying my movies for a while now and consider myself and expert. BUt for some reason I noticed that when I put my copied movies in my dvd drive on my computer, it doesnt notice that I even put a disk in the drive at all. They play with no problem at all on stand alone DVD players. I dont know what I have done and im kind of stumped. Only thing that I have done to my computer is format and reinstall the operating system. And Ive done that several times. I use to never have this problem. I use all kinds of DVD Media, like Ritek, memorex, verbatum, but I get the same issue. I have to make sure about the memorex though. Im copying my movies with DVD shrink and burning them with Nero. Thanks in advance........

Try to uninstall the drive from your computer using the add/remove hardware feature. Then restart your computer and reinstall the driver for the drive. From the sounds of it, it is an issue with the dvd drive or the software it uses, not necessarily the burning process. Does your dvd drive recognize when you put an original dvd in it? How about just a cd?

It works with no problem on anything else. Its just when I put a backed up movie in the drive it doesnt recognize it at all. I actually tried reinstalling the Operation system (ME) without having to format, but it still didnt work. I even upgraded the firmware to 1.08.....
But I'll try what you suggested. BUt Ive formatted my drive completly before and it had this problem. I actually have another Samsung dvd player. And it notices only some of the disk. but not enough to make any real difference.
