If you post your Nero error log someone can take a look and maybe find some issues.

also some drives can't take -Rs, check to see if your firmware is up-to-date: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
just put the name of your drive in SEARCH THE DOWNLOAD DATABASE and it will show you the current firmware that is available for your drive.

why go to -R? If +R is working, don't switch over.

soooooo did you try your +R disks in their players? Try to booktype your drive to DVD-ROM which is more universally acceptable to most players! if your drive can be booktyped then maybe your disks will be playable on their players! read this:

well yes one is a -R and the other is a +R and read anything you put into it , my burner will burn -R and +R just started doing this . It will copy about an inch of the movie onto the disk and thats it , but if i save the movie to hard drive i can use pinnacle instant dvd to copy the movie to either -R OR +R. and RW but dont want to save to hard drive

I don't know what version of Nero you have but you might try updating it and then see if this helps!

most programs copy dvd to hard drive then burn it then it deletes it from the hard drive automatically (or it will copy to temp folder and will eventually delete it!). I don't recommend burning on the fly because too many things can go wrong and then you have a nice little coaster for your collection!
