There are many programs you can use for copying audio CDs, e.g. Nero or CloneCD. As audio CDs aren't designed for bit identical data extraction (less error detection/correction data than audio CDs) damaged/dirty audio CDs can lead to audible problems.

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) is free and the best program available error detection/correction-wise. Here you can find some guides:

BTW: If you want to copy a CD (and probably delete temporary files afterwards anyway) you should use uncompressed .wav format (or some lossless compressed like monkey's audio) for storing extracted audio on HDD to preserve best possible quality._X_X_X_X_X_[small]AFTERDAWN FORUM RULES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487[/small]
