    In addition to that...

Is your xbox modified? If not, stop here, get it modded and then come back.

Do you have the applications to rip Xbox games to your hard drive? (i.e. DvD2XBOX, HDDLoader)

How big is your hdd? That will depict how many games/files you can actually save to the hard drive.

Maybe I should rephrase my question...Do you have any programs on your xbox hdd that can rip games? For example the ones I mention above. Sorry for any confusion.

Download one of those programs and install them on your Xbox HDD; the apps folder. If there isn't one, just create it. Then you can rip the game straight to the hdd

Hey on this note do i have to have the game saved to the HD in order to play burnt backups?? I have a patched deafult.xbe in the E folder but do i need to get qwix to save the game to the HD and then play off the burnt disk or is the ISO on the disk with the patched deafult.xbe enough to play them??

you dont need to have the game on your xbox to play the burnt disc (wouldnt make a differnce if it was on the harddrive)

and to transfer do you have a router, hub switch, or cross-over cable

If you are transfering via a direct connection by way of a crossover cable. There are a couplle things that need to be done. First, the connection on you PC that you will plug the xbox into needs to have a static IP assigned to it. Not sure how to do it?? Click this link, select your Operating System and follow the step by step tutorial: http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm
You will also need to set up a Static IP address on your xbox. You will have an idea of how to do that once you get your PC done. All the settings will be the same (Gateway, DNS, etc.) on the xbox as the PC was. So make sure you write 'em down while you're doing the PC. Once the info has been input, restart the xbox and you should be good to go. If you need a little guidance with that, I have a tutorial with pics that should help you. It's in my signature, How to FTP...Made Easy.
Transfer the dashboard folder (EvoX) to the dashboard folder of your xbox, it should be available to use once you restart.

It is an FTP client. For the purpose of this thread, it's use is to FTP between your xbox and PC/Laptop. That capability allows you to transfer files between the two.

It can also be used to access FTP Sites across the web. Which is basically what you're doing with an xbox and PC but it's a local site (home network)

So....you were told to install it on your PC? What were you asking to be able to do when you were told to do so??
