Is there any program (or is it even possible) to copy over ISO files from a portable Hard drive to the PSP.

    Here is my problem:
I have a lot of ISO's on a portable HDD and I only have a 2GB memory card so I can only fit around 3-5 games on my PSP at one time. So when I go on holiday I'm limited to only 3-5 games. I wanted to bring along my Portable HDD and transfer the ISO's to my PSP using some kind of File Manager.

    Is this possible?

your portable player jus has to have some sort of file manager within itself and you open a usb connection between your psp and w/e portable player you have..
i was on some website a few days ago and a guy bragged about using his 30gb portable player in conjunction with his psp...
so it isnt that far fetched

yeah a 1gb one and a 2 gb one. Gonna use the 1b one for music and video. the 2 GB one for games...am going away for a month so i reckon ill need the two...but now if i could get my portable HD hooked up to it would be sweet!! saves me having to make the tough decision of....Which games to bring!! lol!

i have a 32 mb card with it now, trying to get some homebrew on it, but reckon its too small, have managed to get a video to play on it with video 9. but thats about it.

do i need to load something else on top of the firmware to play homebrew and iso??

Ok first off. Ok the biggest ms that comes officially is 2gb.. there is another company that sells a 4gb hdd but its not good for us 1.5 users... Now I don't know how much you payed altogether for you 2 memory sticks but I can tell you that i found that article i was talking about in this thread. And its 20gb for 249.99. Now its a mp3 player with USB host capability. Jus incase you are like what is he talking about, its a mp3 player that lets you view files from anything that you plug up to its usb. So you would be able to view files on your psp, add files to your psp, or delete files on your psp. So basically you would load everything on to there especially your games, homebrew and video, and keep it stored that.. you could use the mp3 player for well, mp3 and use the psp for video and games since the psp screen is 6 times bigger than this particular mp3 player.. i read up on it and like i said its tru it actually works. If you want more information on that let me kno. its $249.99 USD

As for running homebrew. For homebrew all you need is the homebrew files that come with the games to play them.
For isos/roms: you need emulators. Isos are what psp back-ups are called. roms are what snes, nes, sega genesis etc roms are called..
Do you have any back ups yet sweet stuff?

    eh sweet stuff?!?!

yeah have about 60 games in iso format ready for 1.5 on my HD.

240$ is a bit steep for me at the moment as ive just shelled out 170euro for the psp and another 120euro for the two cards....

i have a usb 250gb external HD which would be dead handy to plug into and get my games off that......can't see why it couldnt be done like you said, with some sort of a file manager

was actually looking at those 4gb hd on ebay, bit too expensive for what they are really!!

i thought sweet stuff was cute lmao? you didnt like that one?

    how about buttercakes lol?

anyway, for you to pull this off with any sort of HDD it [bold] has to have a usb host option [/bold].
The mp3 player that has this is the Cowon iAudioX5.. so if you could get your hands on a cheaper one, or a used one it would be great for you since you are going away.
Going away for spring break i assume?
Do you have the emulators to run the isos yet?

i've never heard of anyone needing anyting extra to boot up the games, you just put them in your game folder and fire up

Thanks Joeva for the USB Host idea. I've done a search and found this http://www.psp411.com/show/product/270/0/Share_Steno_CD311_Portable_HD.html

According to the posts for the HDD it stats that it works with the PSP.

like Sarah, I don't really want to dish out more money on a portable hard drive because I've already got a 80GIG drive and I would prefer to get that working on the PSP.

I have a File Manager loaded on my PSP but can't see/access the external Hard drive plugged into it.

In windows it's the USB drivers that pick up the device but I don't think that the PSP will have a USB driver. So we either need some cleaver developer to get round this or pay a lot of money for a USB host portable hard drive and cross your fingers it works.

Has anyone managed to try this out?

    Mr O

i kno your jokin Joeva. and plus, this is THE MOST ACTIVE forum ive been on. just as good as havin someone on MSN. dont really care if i get member status. i just like having active people on to have fun and help each other out at the same time. lets leave all this on a good note: i apologise for what i said. if it offended you in any way, im sorry. i shall take caution in having fun ^_^

@mrolympia: thats a niffy link there. all someone needs to do is be willing to buy it, sorta reverse engineer it, and hopefully be able to incorporate it into portable HDDs.
