Hi Skibums, I don't know who he is But it doesn't look like his mother dressed him. What a terrible looking pair of shorts (Lol) Regarding his presence, he's there to insure the disc doesn't get copied. How does it work ? Yea, me too. I didn't think it was too tough to overcome (Lol) Cheers, Pete
I went trough all that guys, now i finally can ripped it with decrypter, but still too big too fit it into the dvd, since everyone is having problems with shrink, but i also heard from u guys that decrypter will do fine, but hoe u remove stuff or parts that u dont need to make it fit perfect using decrypter, thx in advance. btw. before u get on me, i been reading a lot in a link u posted in other related topic pete, but i didt see it how to
Hi carlosKoR, I never, ever get on anybody who does even a little work on their own. Some pple won't do anything even when shown the way, I don't do "slave" - (Lol) Now, Once you get your DVD ripped, go to DVD Shrink, "File" then "Open Disk Image", process as usual to get your DVD to size. Edit, Preferences then in "Target size", 4360MB. Then File I/O tab and "un-tick" Enable burning with Nero" Then back to DVD Decrypter, HINT: If you are going to burn with DVD Decrypter, DON'T FORGET TO - go back to DVD Decrypter after ripping, to reset the "Mode" from "ISO - Read" to "ISO - Write". That should do it for you, Happy burning - Pete
ScubaSteve, I registered just to say thanks for all of the information you have provided. I have lurked around here for quite some time and can always depend on accurate information from you. Cheers
Interesting thread. I used Shrink re-author mode - movie only (with movie in DVD-ROM), with all audio and subpicture streams, and then Decrypter to burn the resulting ISO image. I had no problems, and actually watched the entire backup for my first viewing of the movie (one way to see if you have a good backup). I did notice slight, almost to quick to notice, pixellation in a latter chapter. My guess is this is probably the point on the DVD that is causing others to hang up in their attempts to backup.
Hi there 3nVy, Welcome to aD, I don't have any idea who Scuba Steve is but as long as I've been here, I've never seen him He seems like a nice fellow to hear you tell it . Should he ever show up around here I'll be glad to pass your message on to him - Meanwhile, feel free to join in, snoop around a bit and help someone else if you can - Cheers, Pete
Just wanted to thank you guys ... I was having trouble with the bourne supremacy on dvd shrink and already wasted one dvd-r ... hopefully when i try what you suggested it wont happen again happy holidays.
it worked i used clonedvd2 and just kept the movie itself (title 1 - the long one that was about 2hrs or something) it's fine cuz i don't really care about the extras anyway. then i added the files that were copied with clone into shrinkdvd and it worked fine - took less time too since there were less files to worry about... THANKS AGAIN happy new year
For the many members who appear to having problems with the Bourne Supremacy - here are a few tips. 1. Do not install Interactual DVD Player - it is a bitch of a program in the same category as the Roxio whore. 2. If you have Interactual DVD Player on your computer - go to Control Panel - Add/Remove programs and unistall. 3. Use DVD Shrink to open program - analyse - go to re-author mode. 4. Go to Compression settings tab - remove all sub-picture and audio substreams other than English (unless of course you need another language). 5. Backup DVD. Just backed up movie tonight - no errors and no funny green men running across the screem. On a PIII 800 with 256Mb RAM, it took 28min37sec to rip/encode and 14min40sec to burn. Have fun.
As for burning "The Bourne Supremacy", if you search the forums on this site, there is a guide by Scuba Steve that burned the entire DVD. I had no trouble whatsoever. All the extras were included. Granted it did take a month of Sundays to burn, but while I slept it burned a perfect complete copy. I highly sugest going back into the previous forums and checking it out. It used http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm then http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrink.cfm then http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_decrypter.cfm again. Not being the uber-geek I was more than a little nervous changing so many settings. After the burn I had little trouble setting things back to the DVD shrink/Nero that I had used previously. As for me, I followed the advice on the thread and next to my computer, awaiting the next "problem" DVD is a beatiful, crisp white printed copy of the instructions. Thanks again Scuba Pete!
Wow, sorry for the crazy links. Told you I wasn't the uber-geek. :\ How do you make the links all clean like the others in the thread? I also noticed that double spacing looks alot better. Hey, I'm new, what can I say?
Wow I started this thread a month ago and it keeps going and going and going i stated that i could not copy the bourne supremacy with dvdshrink. here what i found out was the problem. i installed a new dvd-rom (Rosewell brand) onto my computer and that reader would not work with shrink. i reinstalled my old dvd-rom (Samsung) and it worked fine. hope this helps some people.
In case of any "The Bourne Supremacy" crc error, the answer is in dvdxcopy platinum. Platinum can backup the original. Just in case you are in the same boat as me and you 3rd cousin's best friends Aunt's Step-Sister's Husband's Son from a first marriage's son of a second marriage's sister's dog's 1'st litter of puppies chewed up your original and you want to backup your dvdxcopy backup, use "AnyDVD" along with Nero -> Copy DVD -> Choose "Image Recorder" -> Image tab -> choose the location of the disc image. New Compilation -> DVD -> DVD Copy -> Read Options Tab -> Error Correction -> Check "Fast reading without error correction (fast and unsafe)" and "Ignore Read Errors". Burn Tab -> check the "Write" box -> Choose "Maximum" write speed -> Click Copy. This will backup your disc image onto your hard drive when it is done. To burn, just go to Nero Express and choose "Disc Image or Saved Project". Browse, find your image, double click. On next prompt, Choose your burner for the destination drive,"maximum" writing speed, and finally click next. You know the routine from here... This also worked for "Shaun of the Dead".... This should cover it.... Also, just an FYI.. upon analyzing each and every chapter of "The Bourne Supremacy", I stumbled upon a quick clip for "Deluxe Digital Studio Compression"... Let me know, but I think this might have something to do with the "CRC" and "Handle" errors.
Just an off-handed query, Why do you need AnyDVD. Since the copy has already been ripped and there is no encryption involved, why the need for a "Decrypter" ? Season's Greetings, Pete
"If you are stuck, then go to that Unreferenced section - Go to "Compression" select "Custom Ratio" then select "Still image" then try DVD Shrink again, it should slide right on through, like a hot knife through tender Turkey - Cheers, Pete" Pete......U ARE DA MAN ! This is the only way to burn Bourne Supremacy with DVD Shrink 3.2 ! Thanx again Bud ! Happy New Year !! Picazzo-
Picazzo, Thank you but here's an UPDATE: SUBJECT: Sony's ARccOS encryption As of this posting: AnyDVD (beta ver.)($$$$) This "Driver-type" program has been up-dated to decrypt this encryption. 100% effective. DVD Decrypter (01/05/05 release)(Freeware) This Decryption / Burning program has been up-dated to decrypt this encryption. 100% effective. VOBBlanker (Freeware) has limited success with this encryption. Cheers, Pete PS. That little "trick" works on supremacy but not on RE2 or little Black Book
