ok first off it's obvious you need a DVD Writer and Blank Media ideally.
Also get DVD Decrypter form this site which is totally legal and free and which everyone who knows anything about DVD burning has.
The following are steps to "backing" up and PS2 game.
    -Open DVD decrypter program.
-Insert the game you wish to "backup".
    -Click Mode>ISO>Read
-Find a folder location on your drive in which you want the game files to be stored.
    -Then click copy or decrypt
-Once the process is done take your game out and insert a blank DVD disc.
    -Then change to Mode>ISO>Write
-Now open the game from the folder it was copied to
    -Now click burn

Then check that all the files are on the DVD and they are the appropriate size in comparison to the original and test it in your modded PS2. That should set you on your way in most instances.

no caps here.... i mean its even in the rules... you cant make a working backup that works w/o any kind of chip thats all... you need a mod... you need a ps2... a burner... and a good hdd to keep all the stuff on.. not to mention burning apps... all in all it will cost about 300 400 in total...

Hi, We'll you don't really need a modchip but you do need a cd or dvd burner and some method of modding. You would probably want to get a dvd burner because all games made now adays on PS2 are dvd's. The only way you can have your PS2 play back-ups without opening your PS2 to place a modchip is to remove the front of your PS2 cd/dvd drive and then get swap magic cd and dvd discs they're around 25 dollars with shipping. So you either get a modchip or take off the front of your PS2 drive. I took off the front of my PS2 drive its easier and cheaper. I did it and I'm only a teen so just about anyone can do it.

It seems you have 2 options BALLA305:
    1. [bold]The Fliptop Cover[/bold]- All the specs about it, how to install it, and how to use it can be found at http://ps2cover.com/ps2coverblack.html
    2. [bold]The Slide Card[/bold]- All the specs about it, how to install it, and how to use it can be found at http://ps2cover.com/slidecardsm3.html

I personally recomend the fliptop because it is easy to install, easy to use, and will not wear out your ps2 in the long run. The only advantage to the slide-card is that it doesn't void your warranty. However, it is a pain to use and wears down your ps2 over a period of time.

In conjunction to both of those product you will need to purchase the swap magic boot discs. And like everybody else said you will need a DVD burner.

So even with Alcohol 120%, there is no way to make a copy of a PS2 game that doesn't require any trick to play it?

HD Loader is now also a perfectly good solution for playing backups.
