Copy VHS tapes to mini DV tapes

    I have old VHS tapes I would like to transfer over to mini DV tapes. I am planning to hook up my camcorder to my TV/VCR combo unit and copy record to camcorder contents of VHS tape. Question, my Camcorder can record in letterbox mode. Would that work or should I copy in 4:3 mode.

    Old VHS tapes will bein 4:3 mode, so you should record in 4:3
