I am making a backup disk to a good and old movie called apocolypse now I may have to remove some sub streams to make the movie fit on a disk. First of all what are substreams and second how does this effect the quality of the movie if I remove some of them. And last how do I know which ones to remove. SUBSTREAMS are the files either in Audio or Video or both that are an ADDITION to the main movie it'self. These extra files that are meant as a possible extra to the main movie, can be deleted with NO LOSS to quality. To point out a simple fact that a FULL LENGTH MOVIE can be Shrunk from a DVD-9 to a DVD-5.(dual layer to single layer disc) To gain the best possible viewing pleasure, it's often best to let go of the minor parts of the DVD. For EG: Other languages, menu's and audio versions.(substreams) If you have difficulties, then post back with as much info as you can, including the software you use. In essence do the "movie only" and all should be well...
