I am new to Afterdawn and a real novice on PC and Ipod. I have some 6000 tracks on my Ipod (which I want to edit anyway down significantly) I downloaded the latest internet explorer and (whether caused by IE or my own error) lost my ITUNES completely within the PC somewhere. I suddenly seem to have bits of music all over the place (ie albums in one place, compilations in another, audiobooks and really do not have a clue. I fly a great deal and have spent long flights editing all my tracks into six Playlists (via On-the-Go) and now have all the music I want and can probably now delete everything else. For some reason, I had a thought that if I did connect Ipod to PC, that I may lose all my tracks but the Playlists may not be lost (probably mistakenly). I am certainly scared to connect to the PC with the threat of losing all!! If i have to leave everything as it is then that is what I will do but certainly would like to edit/update/add to my Ipod!! So any help you can give me would be much appreciated. noggs
try this www.mp4converter.net/guides/backup-music-to-pc.html Basically what you do is unhide the hidden music folder on the ipod you can then transfer the music to your pc. if that link is too much try this www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=ipod+to+pc+hidden+files&btnG=Search
Hi, i met this problem before, my computer crashed and i have all my songs in ipod want to put them back to computer, you will need to have a 3rd party tool to help you as itunes blocks the ipod-to-computer transfer...see ipod to computer for help.
meggiecc..... you don't need a 3rd party software. connect the ipod to the computer but not to itunes. Then go into Mycomputer and right click the ipod, select properties-->Tools-->Folder Options-->Veiw-->Show Hidden files and folders. You will then see all the folders on your ipod, you can then transfer the files to the computer.
