I am running win. xp and the next to last update of dvd decrypter. I have some 2 layer dvds with movies that fit on 1 dvd-r disk but they alway are in 4/5 sections. Is there any way to record just the movie as a single file using just dvd decrypter?
Yes there is Open Decrypter Mode > ISO Read (when it's finished) Mode > ISO Write Done (I prefer to rip/unencrypt VOB BUP IFO files myself as I find that those files are more compatible on set top DVD players)
Open Decrypter Mode > ISO Read (when it's finished) Mode > ISO Write This is how I backup 1 layer DVDs but it rips the entire disk and I have not learned how the other software removes just the movie or how to record everything to 2 dvds. Since I can copy just the movie in 4/5 files with decrypter in file or stream mode, I wishing there was a way to copy it as a single file.
Use Decrypter in File mode, the DVD2one, then burn it. Or you can go with DVDXCOPY Express which is an all inclusive program very easy to use. ~Brian~
I think I did it. Decrypter instruction said if you copy in file mode & stream with the options set to Merge VOB Files you will copy the entire movie as one file. However, I could never locate the merge option. In IFO mode with the options set to none for file splitting, I managed to copy just the movie, which is small enough to record to a single DVD.

no I did not. The movies play fine on the hard drive but decrypter claims it cannot load it to write because it does not recognise the format.
If you rip in file mode with DVDdecrypter you won't be able to just write it back to a DVD. First you need to author it with IFOEdit or DVD2one, you can find out how to use things thing on this board. After that you need to burn it with a program like Nero or whatever burning program you use. ~Brian~
