Hi, I am trying to copy a home dvd from a recent weekend away onto my hard drive. How ever i keep getting an error with 25 seconds left to go. Error: 0x8007045d i/o device error. I copied the second dvd-rw from the weekend to my hard drive with no problems so i am assuming there is some sort of corruption on the first disk. Is there a way to just copy what is good onto my hard drive? I'm thinking if there is only ever 25 seconds left to go most of the video must be ok?? Hope someone can help, the dvd is of a friends hen weekend and i really need to make her a dvd of the weekend ) Thanks, Charlie.
Try the old DVD Decrypter to see if it can get the information. Insert the disk, click 'Tools' > 'Settings' and I/O tab. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/DVD_Decrypter
Hi, Thanks for your replies. Nothing worked though, i guess the disk is just corrupted and nothing i can do about it.. (
Try using another drive from a manufacturer different from the one you used in the first trial. Different lenses, different optics, different error correction, and different alignment from one manufacturer to another often mean that what stumps one drive may work for another drive that fails somewhere else. I have used as many as four different drives to recover customer files from damaged or corrupted discs. Try to borrow an external drive to see if it can resolve the last part of the disc.
