hi, im very new to burning DVDs and usually use DVD shrink 3.2 and Nero but i now want to just copy all my DVDs onto a HDD so i can just play them from there using a media player rather than burning everything to disk. do people recommend this? what is the best way to do it? and how can i do this for encrypted DVDs?

would very much appreciate any input on this
    hope my question is understandable
    thanx

DVDFabHDDecrypter (free or paid) or AnyDVD by Slysoft. I believe the trial of DVDFab becomes the free version, will do movie only too: http://www.dvdfab.com/en/hd-decrypter.htm My only recommendation would be a large HDD.

Do you want the entire DVD (with all of the extras) on the hard drive, or just the movie? If you only want the movie, after decrypting the DVD I would use Handbrake to convert it to a .mp4 or .mkv video file. That way you can save alot of space on your hard drive. I have gotten very good results doing this. The quality of the video you get when you use the H./X.264 codex is just amazing. For example, I encoded the new Star Trek DVD to a 775 mb .mp4 file and my eyes can't tell the difference from the original DVD.
