When I copy a DVD to VHS, I get is a serious degrade in quality. Obviously the VHS quality will below that of the DVD original, but the quality degrade is really bad (even when monitoring the picture throught he VHS player I can see the poor picture). I have connected through RCA cabling as I have been told that connecting through the coax cable (i.e. chaining) provides poor results. Any advice will be appreciated. P.S. Hopefully I have found the right forum, if not let me know.

Thanks for the link mrpiojo. I think that will help me with the VHS transfers. I don't have much for you for DVD to DIVX other than to suggest you go to http://www.divx.com, where they have some good hardweare/software for copies.
