The motherboard died on my old computer so I built a new one, I installed my old hard drive as a slave drive. My problem is I don't want to lose any of the programs or files How can I copy everything over to my new master hard drive and have it work. What program do I need to use or can I just copy and paste folders over? Thier both XP's. Thanks for your help.

if want to use the programs off the old hd than set the drive as master & the other as slave or use ghost or casper xp to copy all info from 1 drive to the other but will lose info on master if copying from old drive as slave

I can't set the old drive as the master because its a different computer and will not boot up, what I'm trying to do is not lose anything. I've thought of creating an image file but am not sure what files to copy.

if copying the programs than have a problem as some programs when installed spreads it's files all over the place in windows & would take a long time to get those files 1 by 1
