I am trying to convert my own personal video tape collection to DVD using an ATI Capture card on a new computer that I have recently built.

However, when I begin capturing the video, it stops after 5 seconds giving me the message that "capture can not continue because the video is copyrighted." I have contacted ATI about this and they shared with me "off of the record" that there is software that will allow me to do this but they will not provide it or give me direction in locating it.

I have a large collection of videos, some very old that I want to transfer to DVD. I have all the software I need to do this if I can just capture the copyrighted video.

Can anyone help with this or give me direction in locating the software that will allow me to do this??? It would be a great help to me.

    Please email info to gumballop@hotmail.com

    Thank you so much!

Try one of those cheapo Sima boxes ...http://www.simacorp.com/products/item.ep.html?id=477

I've used the Sima "Copy This" model sucessfully. Ususally can be found locally or on the web.

You don't need a sima. The ATI card can defeat macrovision without it.
