I hope someone out there can help me. I am not that tech savy, Iknow just enough to get by. I wanted a dvd recorder to play shows or movies and record to dvds. everything is working ok, we are hooked up to dish net and also have dvr( their version of tivo). I have recorded movies on the dvr that I would like to transfer to dvd, and also would like to record other movie channel material hbo shows, movies and the like. When I try to record them it comes up that it is copywrited material. The guy at the store where I bought this said that there was a decoder that you could put on there that would bypass the copywrite. When I called (8-12-06) back to the store they say those devices ( called go dvd) were recalled and sent back. does anyone know where I can get one of those devices or one similar to it. I am trying to do this the simplest way that I can. My computer is not hooked into my dish net and I do not have a burner on my computer. I just want to record the wanted programs or movies on to my new dvd recorder. which by the way is a sony.. help....
