Here's a new one on me. Recently copied on my vcr a movie from Turner Movie Networks. It is one that is not available on dvd by the way. While attempting to capture the movie on my hard drive, about 2 hours into the movie it stopped with the error message - movie is copywrite protected, copying is prohibited.
I have ran across this issue before with some of my old tapes when attempting to capture.
I'm using Power Director as the capture program and The Turtle Beach Video Advantage USB capture devise.
What would you recommend in order to be able to capture copywrite protected vhs tapes, whether or not homemade?
    Thanks

Macrovision on commercial tapes can be circumvented by running it through one of the many 'video stabilizers'.
I use an ancient 'Optex Video Stabilizer'.I think this company is still around.
Note that I have found protection on DVD's that are recorded on a Panasonic dvd recorder.I use 'Anydvd' on the PC to get around that problem.
