Correct way to back up games

hello,all i want to do is back up my 360 games ....not burn them.my 360 is fully capable of reading burnt games, this is the problem....i want to back up my games using my 360 BenQ Drive,so what i did was hook up my 360 BenQ drive to my CPU using my sata cable,then i kept my power cable for the drive pluged in to the 360 which to my knowledge is the correct way to do it,.........thats where i stopped... because when i go to MY COMPUTER it wont recognize my 360 Benq Drive....i turn on my 360 first then my cpu but it still wont recognize my 360 drive....as far as settings i dont know if there is anything i am doing wrong.....im running xp and more than enough space on the hard drive please help..........
