Hi. Was wondering if any of you could help me? I have an album I want to burn (Mix CD) and it comes with a CUE file as many of you know. I burnt it the other day and it worked fine. However, I wanted to burn another copy today so I clicked on 'Burn Image' as usual and as it was reading/loading the file I accidently clicked on Nero StartSmart and as I did this I got an error message saying 'An error occured while loading the cue sheet......(line 4)'. I then rebooted an tried again but I still get the same message. I tried burning another CUE file and that worked fine. I then tried deleting the CUE file that will no longer work and Downloaded another one but again I got the same message. I even deleted the whole folder (album an all) and Un-installed Nero but still no joy. I'm not sure what has gone wrong here but I'm guessing the CUE file has gone wrong somewhere? If anyone could please tell me how to fix this it would be much appreciated as it's one of my favourite albums and I need to back it up. Plus it's very frustrating getting the same message over and over again! Once again many thanks.
Just open the .cue file (and another working one) with notepad or something similar. They're quite self-explaining. If you have problems to figure out what's wrong, just paste the text in a post here.
FILE "Various_Artists-New_Generation_Mix_CD-INFRACD005-2003-sour.mp3" MP3 TITLE "Various Artists - New Generation Mix CD" TRACK 01 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00:00 TITLE "Wickerman - Gremlins" TRACK 02 AUDIO INDEX 01 03:31:07:00 TITLE "J-Majik feat. It says in Nero something about Line 4? Many thanks
In the .cue sheets I have/use, the time stamps (-> INDEX) look like this: FILE "Various_Artists-New_Generation_Mix_CD-INFRACD005-2003-sour.mp3" MP3 TITLE "Various Artists - New Generation Mix CD" TRACK 01 AUDIO INDEX 01 00:00:00 TITLE "Wickerman - Gremlins" TRACK 02 AUDIO INDEX 01 03:31:07 ... e.g. 03:31:07 means 3 minutes, 31.07 seconds; I don't see why adding another :00 would make any sense - try removing the last :00 from each INDEX entry. If this doesn't work: Is the mp3 file name exactly Various_Artists-New_Generation_Mix_CD-INFRACD005-2003-sour.mp3 (is it even .mp3 or another extension (.mpc, .ogg) Make sure the filname and the "FILE" entry in the .cue file match and that the .cue + .mp3(?) are in the same directory. Still no luck? Try foobar2000 (can be used for direct playback of single audio file + .cue sheet and even for burning with plugin) or burrrn (free audio CD burning software capable of handling .cue files). Please report your results - I'd like to know myself if the extra :00 is the guilty.
Hi again mate. Thanks for all your help. Checked everything you said, removed the extra 00s but still no joy. I then tried that Foobar 200 and loaded up the CUE in that and it works perfectly! Hmmm! Obviously isnt anything wrong with the file itself then? Not sure why Nero just don't like it any more? Any ideas?
Ignore that last post bro! You are a complete legend! I removed the last 00s like you said but I realised I also forgot to remove the : next to the 00s. I did that then saved the .cue file again and loaded it up in Nero and it works like a dream! Thank you ever so much mate, much appreciated Thank you also for telling me about Foobar. Not a bat little programme for listening to my .cue files instead of the one big MP3. Once again mate, thank you.
