Something odd has been happening lately and i dont know if its from the newest update. Ive got a launch 360 which is banned and another one for live purposes. I use to swap the hard drive back and forth between the two since the live 360's samsung drive struggles to copy games to the hard drive. After the update we had a few weeks ago of course my live 360 did the update no probs. Few weeks later here i went to put the hard drive in the modded one and it asks to do the update. Now whenever i put the drive back in my live 360 my profile is always corrupted and i always got to recover it. On the modded 360 im unable to copy games to the hard drive. Just says this game isnt supported for this feature. even tho if use to copy them fine before. didnt matter what game. Anyone know if this is some security they implemented into the latest dash update? Maybe somehow ties the hard drive to the xbox thats using LIVE only?
Did you actually do the update? if so it sounds like it did not fully install. i would try clearing the cache on both 360's, and removing the update from the hard drive (if its on there, haven't checked). Then i would re-update them individually, with separate memory units if possible. You might also want to back up your save's, i've heard of a few people having there saves unlinked to a profile after retrieving there profile resulted in corrupt data.
Same as the original poster, i swear i almost used the same paragraph when i posted this on some site few months back. Since i had only 20gb hdd for one console so i was swapping b/w the 2. Even afer clearing the cach and removing the update still no effect. IF anyone found solution pls help otherwise i've already modded my other one which till now still cannot play my old games so i'm switching the drives as well.
I had this problem when I upgraded my hdd from 20 to 120, both are retail and not cloned. I used the migration kit but I had two non-live accounts that showed up as corrupted and most of the game saves on all accounts were corrupt as well. Some game saves were okay and could be used. I think that any game that was played and saved after the nxe update got handled/signed in such a way that made it corrupt. I could transfer those corrupt profiles and game saves with a memory card to the old 20gb hdd and play them on the old system but couldn't on the new 120gb hdd system. That's just my opinion based on what I'm seeing. MS of course was no help at all when I called them.
