Lately, Everytime i try to burn a DVD it gives me this error "Could Not Perform End of Disk at Once" I usually get this error immediately in the beginning or at the end around 94% Does anyone else get this error? Or know what i can do to fix it? Ill give you my example today.

I backup Wedding Crashers with DVD Shrink and had ANYDVD running in the back. It backup 100% and when it finished it ask to insert a blank disc. So i put in a 4X disc to burn and about 1 minute later it gave me the error. I saved the error log that poped up after here it is:

Well joeg112 I see one major problem!!
Eck! That stuff is the pits. Nothing but problems! Switch to the good stuff like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
You've got another problem here too:
You need to free up some ram. This is too low. No multi tasking and shut down any unnecessary processes.
The latest version of 6 is 6.6.0.18 - can't hurt to up date to that.
You can also reduce your target size to 4360.

Ok so your telling me that my blank dvd's are not good. I know this also but come on it was a good deal i thought. I went to compusa and they where 100pack for 20$ so i thought good deal right....Well im not to familiar with brand names so your saying avoid princo at all cost and look for Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. I have a 50 pack of Sony 4.7 48max speed also but there my dads disc.

What about these brands are they good or no? (Fuji, Memorex, Dynex, Sony) I heard of Verbatim before but never heard of Taiyo Yuden. Whats the best quality kind?

Also i should close some programs under task manager? I will do this also. Should i delete some things on C drive or does that have nothing to do with it? Usualy when i rip to PC i save on my D drive then i burn it to a disc (if it works)

I tried to update to Nero 7 ultra edition but it told me to uninstall all previous versions and that the one i downloaded was a demo? Can i upgrade to Nero 7? I bought Nero along time ago and usualy when i update it automatically inserts my serial #. If not where can i upgrade to the latest 6?

How can i reduce my target size? With DVD shrink or with Nero or with both? And how?? Please help me binkie!! SAVE ME FROM THE DVD HORROR!!

I will try my best to save you from the horror :)
First we need to get you on the right path by using better media/blanks.
No to Memorex and Dynex - both use crappy manufacturers and are just as bad a Princo. Yes to Fuji & Sony if they are made in Japan. These are usually made by Taiyo Yuden. You can buy genuine Taiyo Yuden's from supermediastore.com. Try one of those Sony's your dad has. I think you mean 8x - 48x would be cd's. I would burn at 4x also for now.
82% of your memory is in use - that's alot. Shut down what you don't need in task manager. I would do a windows disc cleanup and a system defrag also.
I could have this backwords but I think only Nero7 preminum works w/ shrink not 7 ultra. And yes if you want to upgrade to 7 you will have to pay again. I still use 6. I usually update Nero from major geeks.com. Nero site can be quite slow on downloads. Here's a link:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=633
Your can reduce the target size in shrink by going to edit>preferences. In the preferences tab click on custom then type in 4360. This will keep from burning the the edge of the disc.
You may also need a firmware update for your drive but the drive listed in the log seems generic. What's the make and model?

Ok i will attempt to burn with one of the Sony dvd -r at 4x. I updated to the latest Nero 6. I am doing disk cleanup & ill defrag after. My Dvd burner is

Micro Advantage DVD+RW (Dvd & CD Re Writable Drive)
    DVD Double Layer 8.5 gig
DVD Write Max 16x, DVD ReWrite Max 4x, Cd Write 48x max
    IDE Internal
    Model # - 16DDVDRW-A13

My current driver is 16X8 DVD Dual. Version 5.1.2535.0
Can not find the software disk it came with.

I also saw on Micro ADvantage.net has been shutdown since 12/23/05 I think they went out of business.

I will try to burn again in a little bit after defragment.

Thanks for the help so far. :)

You're welcome! Glad we got it solved! Using good media can make all the difference. You can get genuine Taiyo Yuden from here + their having a good sale now: http://supermediastore.com.
