could not perform fixation

    i have downloaded the latest nero 5.5.10.7
    my burner will burn a cd untill it gets to 100% and then the error message COULD NOT PERFORM FIXATION burn process failed. could ne 1 help me with a solution to this problem

    What were you doing? Creating a data disc, an audio disc or burning a disc image?

    I am getting a 75% fail rate using nero 5.5.9.17 on win98 with my BenQ cdrw. I have tried various media with no improvement. I am using a celeron 466 with 256Mb ram and have no buffer errors. All of my errors are fixation, usually destroying the disks. The burns fail whether I burn 5k or 600Mb. I would appreciate any suggestions that may remedy this.

    a data cd is what i am burning, i even keep it way under what the quota amount of the cd can hold. Eg 600MB

    i am running xp pro, the burner was working fine until a couple of days ago i dont think its the software because i have always used nero.
