Hi, I hope you guys and girls could help me looking (or giving me some ideas) for a program which can do the following tasks which I plan to do. I'll break it in easy readable parts. - Let's just just say, I own two video DVDs of one same movie. - First DVD only has Chinese Mandarin audio track, the second one only has Cantonese audio track with better picture quality. - What I want to do is, to make a new DVD which contains the movie with better picture quality ones with Chinese Mandarin audio track. - In other words, new DVD = better picture quality from the 2nd DVD (Cantonese audio track deleted) + Mandarin Chinese audio track from the 1st DVD - In a nutshell, I want to switch the audio track from the 1st DVD into the movie in the 2nd DVD (Cantonese audio deleted). - The next problem is, subtitle. Let's just say, both DVDs don't have the language sub which I need (ie. I can't watch it together with my sister or my friends because there are no language subs which they understand. I can read Chinese though, but what's the fun watch it by myself?) - What I want to do is; A. Directly edit (on-the-fly the better) one of the subs which I don't need and retranslate it into the language which my sister/friends understand, OR; B. Made a brand new translated sub and somehow insert it into that new-made DVD. Either way fine with me as long as the sub works on DVD players. Though I prefer the A ones, because it saves me the trouble to arrange the sub timing stuffs (though possibly some retiming still needed, because of language sentence-length difference). So any ideas what program(s) should I use to perform this project? All-in-one program would be a blessing, but a couple of, two to five programs also fine with me. The important thing is, the result DVD is playable on DVD players. So if you all would be so kind to tell me what program(s) I need. Or maybe someone would be even kinder to also give the download links (though not a must), I would really appreciate it. Just tell me what program(s) you mostly used and trust, that would suffice. And please don't give me programs which are oh-so-technically-hard-to-use-my-head-is-spinning ones. I'm not a computer program expert nor blind-as-a-bat-whatthehell-is-a-computer guy. Sorry, just want to add a little. I've spent a couple of hours yesterday Googling for the programs which I need (with "DVD subtitle editor" keyword, not so creative, yeah). I've downloaded a couple of programs such as; Ashampoo Burning Studio, ImTOO DVD Ripper, Xilisoft DVD Ripper, DVD SubEdit, and DVDSubber. But not one really useful to my project, especially on the subtitle issue. DVD SubEdit is cool (able to change individual subpicture's colour and font style, useful for multilingual flicks), unfortunately you can only delete the subs, not edit/add the text. Once I've thought to convert the DVD .vob files into DiVX format so I could just make my own .srt subs. I used ImTOO DVD Ripper, after that Xilisoft DVD Ripper, but the result was horrible. The audio and picture timing is off about 10-20 secs. I've selected the best setting options which the programs provided, but alas. I think it's my PC problem. You see, my PC pretty weak. It's a laptop with Pentium Centrino 1.73ghz, 512 mb memory, and cheap Intel video card. So yeah... I forfeited the convert-to-DiVX idea. BTW, which part of a computer that has the biggest influence on quality when converting video files? Video card? Processor? You see, I own another PC, but it's really old. Pentium III 800mhz, 256+128 mb memory (still SDRAM), GeForce 4 MX video card. Well, at least the video card is better than the laptop one. Anyway, thanks for reading. Demux both movies using PgcDemux. (also, note the audio delay using the button) Use MuxMan to create a new movie with the required video and audio streams (insert the audio delay that you noted above). There are guides around for both of these programs at videohelp.com The subtitles have to be in .sup format if you wish to mux them with the video and audio - I wouldn't know where to start with non-Latin languages.
