Ok so i just built a new pc and i have a p5n-d mb and a e8400 cpu but suprisingly my mb temps arent a problem its the cpu. I install asus probe II and its telling me my cpu is running at 63c but when i check realtemp it says im only running at 35ish on both cores, which should i beleive?
try a trial of everest or install speedfan. Realtemp only tells you your core temperatures (I think), the other programs are more comprehensive. Also, a P5N-D... oh dear.
Ah right, I don't check my profile anywhere near often enough because aD doesn't send email notifications for stuff like that.
lol i know ive heard that its a bad mb but the mb temps are only running in the 30s which i think is good I download everest and this is what it told me Sensor Properties: Sensor Type ITE IT8712F (ISA 290h) Temperatures: Motherboard 38 °C (100 °F) CPU 20 °C (68 °F) Aux 43 °C (109 °F) WDC WD5000AACS-00G8B1 30 °C (86 °F) Cooling Fans: Chassis 4042 RPM Voltage Values: CPU Core 1.09 V +2.5 V 3.36 V +3.3 V 0.02 V +5 V 5.05 V +12 V 12.10 V +5 V Standby 5.05 V VBAT Battery 3.17 V Debug Info F 42 A7 FF Debug Info T 43 38 20 Debug Info V 44 D2 01 BC BD 04 45 (F7)
There's a lot more to a motherboard than how cool it runs, and ironically, a lot of nforce chipsets actually lie about their temperature.
Well the temperatures are fine according to everest, but since it's an nforce, they will be wrong, so there isn't much to gain from looking at everest.
Unless you are either a hard core gamer or a serious overclocker then temps shouldnt matter too much. but rest assured that computers can have saveguards added to automatically shutdown to prevent temperature meltdown. Several applications can do this for you
