Well recently i have just started playing phantasy star universe AOTI and i keep getting code 057 if anyone can help me with that, that would be greatly appreciated.

But thats not half the question, whenver i play this game or use the internet the CPU spikes at 100% and it interupts my playing of the game, i have tried many registry programs and it doesnt help i also went into the msconfig screen and turned some of the functions to try and reduce the CPU usage but to no avail so i finally came to the decision that it was some sort of messed up function within the computer. so i completley wiped my laptop and started again from the factory settings.

I did this and i firstly installed the PSU:AOTI game again and i played for a while and the CPU spiked and slowed the game but didnt end the game but after a while it came at me outta nowhere code 057 and the CPU had spiked

Is there any other way to solve this, i have read to increase my ram is one way.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire 3690 and it can take 2GB of ram can anyone recommend any ram that is suitable or another way around this

Thank you for reading and i hope for a response and i hope this in the right part of the site lol

I did a quick search and found that the "057" code simply means you are getting disconnected, according to PSO-World.

With the CPU question it looks like your processor is just barely adequate for the game, if this is the laptop you have. The system requirements that ddp linked to says it requires a processor "Higher than Pentium 4 1.6Ghz"; this looks like the cause of the 100% spike on your processor as according to Cnet the laptop has a 1.6GHz Celeron processor.

okay thank you for your replies :) Umm i dont know too much about building computers and such but there is no way of chnaging a laptops CPU is there??!?!?!

And will increasing RAM help support this problem or not, i will increase my Ram anyways but i just want to know.

The error 057 code is still happening and is annoying but i will just have to put up with it until i build my own PC lol

    Thank you
