Ok, so i gota acer aspire SA80. I have a LGA (LGA? its something like that i dont have cpu-z on me right now!)
Anyway, i gota LGA 755 CPU socket... ive heard the i got the oldest type tho, i think it was on here somewhere that i discussed it... anyway, the oldest? isnt 775 just... 775?
can i support a cheap core-2-duo? i really need one!!!!
ohh also, if its true that theres "older" versions of LGA 775, then
could someone recomend me the best cheap one and the best expensive on thad i'd suport? id reaaally appreciate it!!

    thanks!!

LGA 775 refers to the cpu socket. all 775 sockets can take any intel socket 775 cpu whether that is single, dual or quad core but it is the board & bios that determines which core will run on it. i have a socket 775 board from a customer that can only run single core cpu's.

the link i provided earlier says you can go to 3.2ghz. other option is go for new board, cpu & ram with possibility of new videocard if can't use onboard video.

both the board & the bios have to be capable of running dual core cpu's & yours cannot be done.

can't use because yours is 90nm & that 1 is 65nm. also the new 1 uses a 800 mhz fsb & yours is around 500 mhz.
