Is there a noticeable performance increase between an Athlon 3200+ at 2.0Ghz and an Athlon 3500 2.2Ghz. Is it worth the extra thirty bucks?
In my opinion....no. Maybe a point or two on some benchmark, but as far as your games go your brain won't notice a thing.
If the increase is only slight in frequency, there won't be much of a difference....if one CPU has more internal cache then the other, you'll see a better increase in performance.
Could you give us an exact reference (Core, cache, etc) and remember if you buy a good cooler you can always overclock your 3200+ so it has the same perf as your 3500+

I recommend you to buy a San diego core which holds more l2 cache that will give you a noticeable speed boost (even if the sandiego core has a lower clock speed) off course a sandiego would cost more, so about those 2 proc you have two options (depending on price) if the difference between those two is less say more than 20 dollars and you really want to save your cents, buy teh 3200+ and then OCed so it has the 3500+ perf (of course this is if you know how to work with overclocking and your mobo is capable of) if the diference between those two is really not that much and you have money to spare get the 3500+ off course dont waste your money (lets say the difference between this two procs is more than 20 or 30 dollars) in that case go for the 3200+, plus in real life performance you wont really notice a thing.
