crackling noise playing media files

    hi my pc gives a cracklng sound intermittently while playing an mp3 file after a long time. at first it sounds perfect, but like after like 8 hours when i try to play any media file, it crackles then lags a bit....
    if i restart the pc, it dissappears but after awhile again it comes back, any media player i use (wmp 11, itunes, vlc) gives the same output....help

    Uninstall....then reinstall your latest sound drivers.

    If that doesn't help...it may be an indication your sound card/chip may be failing...or possible a bad codec.
