Okay, so 2 days ago i downloaded a program called camfrog and it was a pretty good program so i torrented the full version, installed it and got a virus. This virus is pretty crazy. At first, it was messing with my internet connection. Then we fixed that and when we were on the internet, pop-ups started to come (im using firefox 3) Today, its the internet connection problem again. Right now i am using my dads laptop. The laptop, and my brothers computer downstairs can connect to the internet perfectly. (We all connect to the same connection) But anyways, whenever i restart my computer, i get a couple of microsoft pop ups telling me that it cannot find certain files,the background wallpaper always changes to a blue screen, a Symantec auto protect window always pops up saying that it found two things "Joke.Blusod" and "Trojan. Blusod". I have ran trojan remover a lot and all i can say is that that program sucks now. I have tried the method where i have to find the specific location of the .dll file and right click on it and use that program called "unlock" to delete it but that didnt work either. How can i completely get rid of this virus? I am using windows xp and one more thing, for some reason, i cannot turn on windows automatic updates. Its pretty strange. But i dunno if tht has anything to do with the virus.
UPDATE: symantec auto protect window just popped up saying it found another thing "Trojan.Pandex" Dunno what it is, but just thought you should know.
Hi farahm2. Sorry for the late response to your problem. This teaches you a lesson about torrents. Never torrent full versions of programs you're supposed to pay for. It is illegal and a good way for mawlare to get into your system. Here, please do the following in order: Download both Superantispyware Free and Combofix. With Combofix, at the download window, please rename it to Combo-fix before downloading it. Install Superantispyware Free and update it fully. Next, boot your computer into safe mode which you can do by repeatedly typing the F8 key after you press the power button. Scan your computer with Superantispyware. Quarantine all detected items, and post the scan log here. After that, right click on the Superantispyware icon in your task bar, and click on Exit. Please run Combofix and follow the prompts. Understand that things like your system clock changing and your desktop disappearing might happen. Do not worry, because all will be restored later. Do not click on the Comobofix window, as it may cause it to stall. If it asks for a reboot, do it. Post the log, which is located at C:\ComboFix.txt, here. Now, boot back into normal mode and download HijackThis. Run a system scan, and post a log here without fixing anything. Best Regards
