I've seen some postings of cyclic redundancy check but none of them really explain how to solve the problem I am having.
I wanted to back up 4 gb of files so i decidec to burn a dvd..i tried a ridisk at 4x with nero...i click at nero to do verifycation...after the dvd finished i tried to copy all the files at another pc(at my pc the dvd works fine) and i got the error data error(crc)....
today i bought verbatim and i tried to burn the dvd at minimun speed but i have the same problem...
i also tried not to full the dvd so i burn only 4gb (and not 4,7)
Why nero verification done succesfully while the dvd had these problems???...
i tried again and again but nothing
i also tried to update my firmware at my dvdr...
    Please help meeeeeeeeee
thnks in advance (and sorry for my english :) )

Hi well first of all don't worry for one moment about your English, the only glaring error I saw, was in the title...The famous CRC.. It really should have been, the infamous CRC lol:)
Even then; written within a sense of irony, famous would be correct
(great language English yer always right)lol as long as folk know whut yer sayin.

We really need to know, your PC specs' and the specs' of the PC you're trying to use the DVD on.

If you have been using Nero Back It up, switch to Nero Burning Rom.
Back ups are for backing up your original PC, not for transfering files.

probably the media is poor quality. That's usually what CRC errors are. What speed did you burn at also??

This is about your inpage error. The problem with Verbatim and other brands (Memorex, Fuji, Maxell, etc.) is that they don't make their own media. They buy media from many different manufacturers, some good, some bad. Verbatim DataLifePlus with the Super AZO dye is probably some of the best (made by MCC-Mitsubishi Chemical Corp) but there are other Verbatim discs that are made by others, one being CMC MAG which is one of the absolute worst manufacturers out there. You can download a program called DVD Identifier (http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/) which will tell you exactly who made this media and also has a button (More Info... I think it says) which will take you to an online database comparing the media with others and giving you compatibility info as well.

this site is for diskettes and i think this is a problem at win 2000...When copying files from a diskette on a Windows computer, you may occasionally experience an "Error performing inpage operation".

my problem is copying from DVD!
i will ckeck the other site
    thnks...

well, that site says the problem is with the media usually. I'm thinking the same thing goes for DVDs.
