I just upgraded to the latest Nero v8.3.2.1. Is it just me or have they removed the option to save a disc image (created by Image Recorder in Nero Burning ROM) as an ISO file? They only seem to support their own format now (NRG). /N/
I don't use Nero 8 but in Nero 7 you could do the following: File > Options > Expert Features menu, Enable all supported recorder formats for image recorder check box. The drop-down menu in the Compilation window then makes available all supported disc types. Is this no longer available in Nero 8?
Well I have that option selected and only *.nrg is listed in the drop-down list of file formats to save the image in. There was definitely an ISO option in the last release (8.2) so either they have dropped the format or they have introduced another bug into the system. /N/
Not burning my images at all. If I was, Nero would do the job fine. I am creating ISO backup images of my bluray & DVD discs that can be stored on my NAS, mounted with DaemonTools Lite, and played on any PC or laptop in the house. DT Lite gives an error when I try & mount an NRG image file. Cheers /N/
I stuck with Nero 6, but if I save as .nrg, and change the file extension to .iso after, I still have compliant ISO files. Have never had a problem with any of them yet, anyway.
OK, well I'm now using UltraISO to make the UDF2.5 Blu-ray ISO image files; they mount fine in DT-Lite & play with Nero Showtime and/or PowerDVD Ultra. The Nero NRG Image files made from the same blu-ray discs won't mount in DT-Lite even if renamed to ISO files. So, all is well now though it would have been nice not to have to use an extra tool to do the job. /N/
